How and when to use the resources
Before the event
The resources you need before your event are:
- the step-by-step guide explaining how to run an event and what to do in the lead up
- the run sheet template to fill in, so everyone involved knows what’s happening and when, and who’s responsible
- the letter to send to whānau and caregivers, explaining Inspiring the Future
- for online events – student group forms to pre-organise your students into groups
We encourage you to use the pre-event classroom activities to help ākonga prepare. They’re designed to deliver on the curriculum at the same time.
During the event
Keep the step-by-step guide and run sheet handy during your event. You will also need these resources:
- the number cards (or, for online events, the device number cards) to identify role models
- the worksheets and prompt cards, for the ākonga to keep the event flowing
For in-person events, you can also use:
- our welcome and toilet signs
- our name stickers template
After the event
Our post-event classroom activities will help ākonga build on learnings from their Inspiring the Future event. They’re designed to deliver on the curriculum at the same time.
